PHYSICAL THERAPY

Evaluation of orthopedic pain conditions involving bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and other tissues. These include:

  • Back & neck pain

  • Joint instabilities (dislocations and subluxations) & fractures

Evaluation of dizziness (vertigo), inner ear (vestibular) & balance disorders

  • BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
  • Loss of function in inner ear (vestibular weakness or hypofunction)
  • Dizziness related to stroke or brain injury
  • Post-Concussion Syndrome

Treatment sessions may include:

  • Education – about your diagnosis, treatment plan, activity modifications, training plans, posture correction and positioning
  • Hands-on techniques (manual therapy) to decrease pain and quickly improve motion in joints and muscles
  • Progressive home exercises to improve flexibility, strength, balance and coordination – individualized to your specific problem because each patient is unique in what they need
  • Vestibular rehabilitation
    • Positioning sequences (Epley maneuver and others) to eliminate dizziness
    • Head and eye coordination exercises to improve visual focus and eliminate dizziness
    • Repeated position change exercises to retrain your body to respond without dizziness

VIDEO RUNNING ANALYSIS

A biomechanical running evaluation is designed to identify issues that can negatively impact your running performance and/or may lead to pain and injury.
Your 60-minute individual session includes:
  • Injury and exercise history

  • Foot and running shoe assessment
  • Video analysis of running form & cueing to improve form

Performing Artists

Instrumental musicians, theatrical performers, dancers, figure skaters, and gymnasts all have unique physical demands placed on their bodies by their activities. Physical therapy with Quest will be customized to deal with the specific demands of your task. Dr. Williams has played flute and piccolo for over 30 years, has extensive background in theater, and has participated in figure skating and gymnastics recreationally. This gives her a unique understanding of the positioning, rehearsal, and performance requirements that these artists and their conductors, directors and coaches expect.
